In Loving Memory of Kyomi Linai Culpepper

An Angel Who Forever Changed Our Hearts

On September 10, 2004, our miracle arrived, Kyomi Linai Culpepper.
Born with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD), Kyomi’s time on earth was brief but deeply meaningful. On January 7, 2005, surrounded by love, she completed her journey. Though her life was short, her light continues to guide us.

From her strength and spirit, Kyomi’s Gift was born — a promise to help other families facing the unimaginable.

DONATE

Our Mission: To honor Kyomi’s life by lifting the burden for families caring for critically ill children.

Kyomi’s Gift is a family-run, volunteer-led nonprofit fund through the Barry Community Foundation, created to offer both compassion and tangible support when families need it most.

Through your generosity, we:

Provide financial relief to families struggling with medical, food, or housing costs.

Fund education and awareness to help families understand and navigate rare or life-threatening childhood illnesses.

Partner with local charities to ensure no family walks their journey alone.

Every act of kindness helps carry another family through their hardest days, and that’s what Kyomi’s spirit is all about.

How You Can Help

Your donation, no matter the size, brings light into a family’s darkest hour.

Because Kyomi’s Gift is powered entirely by donations, every dollar goes directly toward supporting families and children in need of extraordinary care.

Together, we can turn heartbreak into hope: one family, one child, one gift at a time.

Coming together for a cause close to home

Kyomi’s Gift is fueled by community, by neighbors, families, and friends who gather not just to raise funds, but to raise spirits. Each of our events is a celebration of connection, kindness, and the difference we can make when we show up for one another.

From chili cook-offs and golf outings to a Murder Mystery Dinner, every event brings laughter, friendship, and purpose to the table. The proceeds go directly toward helping local families caring for children with critical medical needs.

Whether you’re joining us for the fun, volunteering behind the scenes, or donating from afar, you’re part of something bigger. You’re part of Kyomi’s Gift.
